On Saturday, April 20, the David E. Shi Center for Sustainability and the Greenbelt Community will present a Furman Earth Day Festival. The event is a celebration of Earth Day showcasing great music, earth-friendly foods, sustainability-related student initiatives and community organizations, all in the beautiful campus lakeside setting.

The event is free and open to the public. Join us for the festivities from 1pm - 6pm, rain or shine.

About the David E. Shi Center for Sustainability:

The mission of the Shi Center is to promote the study and practice of sustainability across campus and the greater community. Established in 2008, the David E. Shi Center for Sustainability has evolved into a powerful think-tank. The center provides a hub where educators, students and community leaders can work together, exploring the most complex issues of sustainability.

About the Greenbelt Community:

​

The mission of Greenbelt Community is to create and nurture a sustainable residential community that promotes student success, supports Furman's academic mission through contributions to borderless learning, and fosters intentional engagement among students, faculty and staff. The Greenbelt is a residential learning community for approximately 22 upper class residents who are interested in living and learning in a sustainable environment.
